Once again we have a spring lamb. The other day I was watching it skip around the pasture, observing life with it's big curious eyes. (Like children, it was too frisky to hold still long enough for a good quality photo.) I got to thinking how we as a family fall in love with the newborn(s) every year. They are so cute! A joy to watch. I began to ponder sacrificial lambs. If I have my facts straight, on Palm Sunday, lambs were herded into Jerusalem and Jewish fathers would purchase a lamb for Passover. That lamb would then be kept in the house like a pet for a few days so it could be observed for defects. Imagine the trauma to the children when it came time to slaughter the innocent lamb. Surely Jewish children must have a better understanding of the cost of atonement than I.
Sacrifice- the high cost of redemption. Thank you, Lamb of God!

I love the quirky picture and your 'provoking' thoughts on sacrificial lambs. Reminds me of when I was little and we had a pet lamb. Can't imagine having to willingly kill it. It was trauma enough when a dog made an end of its fragile young life one day.
