Slowly, but Surely

I apologize for the lack of posts. We've had plenty happening, but our part of the neighborhood is having trouble with our internet connection. I'll take advantage of being able to connect today.

We just came through a busy weekend! Richard was goneThursday - Saturday on a backpacking trip with a group of men from our church; they were doing a study based on the book Wild at Heart. He had a good time, even with a cold front coming through and the temps dipping down to 40° at night.
While he was gone we were having adventures at home. Thursday after school Josh went hunting with a bow for the first time. Before he went out I told him "Now don’t get anything. I don’t have time to deal with it." (I was going to a scrapbook party.) Around 6:30 he came in and said he shot a 6 pointer. I didn’t believe him at first. What are the chances of getting a nice buck on his very first try?! To make a long story short, we have not been able to find it. We spent hours in the woods over the weekend without success. The woods is very thick with thorns and impossible to comb thoroughly. The only possibility of finding it now would be if the smell would lead us to it. I really wish we could find it so Josh could have the "bragging rights".
Then Friday Josh cut himself on one of his arrows. Those broadheads really scare me! To make another long story short, we spent an evening in the ER. He has 3 fingers glued back together.

Other non-remodeling news includes the birth of a niece today - Madison Brooke, 8# 11 oz.

Our remodeling project is coming along slowly, but surely. All of the new windows are in and the siding is finished. This week they are doing the plumbing & electrical rough-ins. Drywalling is scheduled for next week. The colder weather makes our uninsulated addition very cold, so we're eager to get it insulated. We’re shopping around for floor coverings.

Congrats on the buck!

Hang in there, the finished addition will be worth the waiting.

What types of floor covering are you getting?
