Temporary Living Quarters

Last meal in our old kitchen- Sept. 13.
Saturday morning pancakes by Mom; blueberry sauce by Josh; table setting by Dad.

We worked hard all day Saturday to set up temporary living quarters in the basement. This is our temporary kitchen A...

...and temporary kitchen B. Kinda ugly & inconvenient, but it will work for a few weeks -and make us more grateful for our lovely new kitchen!

We actually managed to fit most of the kitchen cabinets in the basement so I didn't have to pack up as much stuff as I originally expected.

And the temporary Living Room, which is in the same area as Kitchen A. Compact & cozy.
We'll continue to sleep in the bedrooms for now. Watch for more pictures later this week -when the walls come tumbling down. :)
We survived the remnants of Hurricane Ike that passed through here last evening. Some folks in this community are still without electric today, but we were blessed to have power the entire time. The tree in the front yard lost one good sized branch, but that is all the damage. It sounded like the house would be minus the housewrap by morning but it's still there. PTL!
