A year ago I had stacks of books continually as I researched and drew plans for the addition. Today our bookmobile librarians are surely groaning as I ordered another boatload of heavy books -this time on landscaping. We had a landscaper come on Thursday and draw up a design. Not being completely satisfied with it, I am playing with it myself-sketching some revisions. Of course the top priority is to bring the cost down.
Neither R or myself find flowers to be therapeutic in the hands-on kind of way. We like to see nice landscaping but aren't so good at keeping after flowerbeds ourselves. So if you have any low maintenance shrubs or plants that you'd recommend, we're open to suggestions.

Iris take care of themselves. The only thing you have to do is cut off the stalks after they are finished blooming to keep from getting borers.
