Bridal Parties

We interrupt this remodeling saga to post the cool bridal things we get to do this week. R's youngest brother is getting married this month. Weddings are a big deal to me. And this is only the 6th sibling we've had getting married since our own wedding 17 years ago.

Monday evening was a bridal shower by the church ladies. I didn't give a Pampered Chef item since I'm investing in my traditional handmade gift. I've collected favorite recipes from the family, including the groom's favorites, which I'm compiling in a 6x6" scrapbook. The album itself is a quick & easy format, but it's a time consuming project because I'm making each recipe and taking photos of the food. Till I'm finished I'll either forever dislike still life photography or have gained a knack for arranging food... too early to tell which.

Last evening I was privileged to be invited to an outdoor formal bridal dinner. Love these things! Beautiful tables, warm fellowship, plentiful hors d'oeuvres and awesome food-grilled chicken salad, cheesecakes. Bless you , Amy & Alta, for hosting.

It was just windy enough that the tealights wouldn't stay lit. And got rather chilly as the sun went down.

Fun, fun. Toilet paper wedding gown contest. Our niece, 2nd from the left, was picked as winner by the bride-to-be.

My first attempts at sewing dresses for the wedding is a failure. The neckline of A's dress is too big, therefore I have to start over.
