Winter Break

We have winter break from school this week, and what a kick-off weekend! We really felt a need to get away for a few days, but can't swing going to FL- much as we'd love to spend time with Dad Millers, so we started brainstorming what we can do close to home.

Quite by accident, we stumbled upon this event Friday night...

I could hardly believe professionals would come to hillbilly country. I've always been fascinated by bull riding. I was really hoping no one would get hurt lest Arianna freak out; we could have gotten ringside seats, but I opted for center section. Twas fun.

We got a very nice motel for the weekend. On Saturday the children were in the pool all morning- while the snow was drifting down outside. Next best thing to FL!

Then we traded swimwear for winterwear -spent the afternoon at a skating rink. I have not been on the ice for probably 20 years, so I'm proud to be able to say I only fell once. Richard is still a very good skater and really enjoyed the afternoon.
I hope to be able to get some scrapbooking done this week. The trim in the bedrooms is being painted today & tomorrow, so the walls won't be ready for painting until later this week. BTW, we still have not settled the debate on what color to paint the boys bedroom.

I wondered about that. Camouflage? With red curtains?

my but you have gotten a lot into the first part of winter break. I'm always a little envious of school families who have this little celebration in the middle of winter...:) Not sure why we couldn't celebrate as well, it's just not the same without school kids being thrilled about it. ;)
