We're on a Roll

I did not expect it to go so long till I have a picture of the new, improved bathroom to post. Things did not go as planned -when do they?! But at long last, we have a working bathroom upstairs. The biggest problem was that the plumbing for the shower was not centered and had to be moved to make the plate around the [water] temperature control fit. All good things take time, eh?
The room isn't quite complete. We need mirrors over the washbowls, a towel ring, toilet paper holder, etc. Also new door & trim are coming. But you get the idea. The paint color "Cancun Sand" is more yellow than I envisioned; everyone is trying to convince me it's OK. Love them oil rubbed bronze fixtures!

"Humpty-Dumpty" is slowly on the mend. A week after the great fall I was having constant pain in my ribs, so I went to the chiropractor. He thought it sounds like a fractured rib so he did x-rays right off. Those didn't show anything, but he still thinks it's a hairline fracture. Whether it is or not, one rib was out of place- there was a lump by the spine and I had pain where that rib connects to the breastbone. After the first treatment I could take a deep breath without the same level of pain. Coughing & sneezing are still quite painful. The chiropractor told me to take it easy, so I didn't paint at all on Wednesday or Thursday. :)
I have had 1 person per day helping to paint, which is a nice amount. We are doing 2 coats of primer & 2 coats of paint on the walls; 1 each on the ceilings. That's a lot of rolling! The kitchen area is completely painted- ready for cabinets next week! Most of the ceilings are finished and nearly all the primer is on, too. The "Swiss Coffee" [off white] I selected for the kitchen, DR & LR area is a good choice. I'm hesitant about the burgundy ["Deep Garnet"]color I selected for the office- I won't know if I like it until I put it on. I picked "Regale Blue" for the laundry -it's pretty bright, but I love blue. I started on the Master Bath today -it's a pale green called "White Clover". I'm not sure about it yet- the words 'prison green' come to mind when I look at it, so I might try to lighten it to the next shade- "Delicate Petal". I'm debating about going with palm tree/tropical decor in that bath. I'm eager to start with color in the Master Bedroom. I'm thinking of doing one wall in "Rapture" -a deep purple, then the other walls with a lavender brushed pearl [glaze] finish.
It's a girl! The happy father is our contractor. Little Tirzah arrived Monday evening. The timing is great. Since we are doing the painting ourselves, his "maternity leave" is not hindering our progress. :)
We would like the electrician & plumber to put in more of an appearance... they have quite a bit of work to do yet. No one is committing to much next week on account of deer hunting. So we wait ...and pray that they all get their trophy early in the week.

Looks very nice! I'm glad you're getting local help with the paint since my arm is too short. Post more pictures!!
