First Wheels??

It's been a busy week. Among other things, we spent a day making doughnuts. (Note to self: next time do NOT make doughnuts on the most humid day of the year!) When Josh got his turkey we talked about how we owe Tony a big favor for rolling out of bed so early several mornings and teaching Josh the 'ropes'. Josh came up with the idea of making doughnuts and giving him the whole batch. I supposed that was a fair trade of time invested. I waited until school was out so Josh could help since he was the one who owed the favor. It was not in the plan for it to turn sweltering. I didn't have eager helpers to fry & glaze 125 doughnuts, only eager taste-testers. (I made a double batch so we could keep some.) Richard & Josh made deliveries in the evening and picked up Josh's mounted turkey fan and beard. He wants a whole wall decorated with his hunting & fishing trophies after the remodel.

We've been watching for a good deal on a little gas mileage car since we sold the Mazda. With gas prices climbing, it is time to find one. The hold-up was wanting something cheap. We ended up making a trip to Parkersburg yesterday to look at a Camry. While Richard was out test driving it, he spotted a Saturn of interest. It's newer, lower miles and price than the Camry, so guess which one we came home with. What really clinched the deal was mpg Saturns get.
Last Saturday one of Richard's sisters made a comment about whatever we get might become Jeremy's first wheels. (9 months from driver's permit- scary!) He took a lot of interest in what we were considering after that. It's loaded- black leather interior, sunroof, etc. Right up there on Jeremy's "cool"-ness scale. It's 5 speed so I'll have to brush up on driving stick. Maybe Richard needs to start driving the van- this car is too nice for a work car, don't you think? :)
