Painting Trim

At last! At last!
The primer went on yesterday, and the first coat of paint went on this morning. This is the Master Bedroom; the Office and Laundry are also being done, as well as the interior doors. (The Master Bath will be done with the 2nd cycle because we're waiting on the curved piece of trim to go over the window.) Learning to spray paint went better than I dared hope, so we're cruising right along toward floor coverings next week. Thumbs Up

I painted a portion of one Office wall with the burgundy paint. After 2 coats, it still looks more red than burgundy. I also found it is very hard to get it on evenly; all overlaps show. I kinda like the color, but Richard does not. He said I should go ahead, but I don't want a highly visible room in a color he hates, so it's back to Sherwin-Williams again. I'll get another sample of a deeper burgundy. If we have to abandon burgundy all together, I'm considering navy or dark green. For some reason I'm stuck on dark colors for that room!

I'm also looking for a different shade of green for the Master Bath. Everyone likes the trial color except me. I can't get past seeing the old Guernsey County jail walls. Picking paint colors has been the hardest thing for me.

We have caroling this evening -a tradition I could easily live without. (Strange isn't it, that as a little girl I could hardly wait until I was declared old enough to participate instead of staying at the church with the grandmas, and now I'd be glad to get out of it.) Thursday & Friday nights Josh & Arianna give their school program; Josh is playing a central character (Joseph) in a play, so I guess we'll have to wait to leave for PA until early Saturday morning.

Sounds good! You should be able to start moving into at least some of the rooms this year yet.
