Day 1 - Dirt Piles

Excavation took place today. Hurray! Our backyard now sports some large dirt piles and our children have very dirty clothes to put in the hamper this evening. Oh, the joys of sliding down dirt piles!
We are excited, but I also found myself -strangely- just a little apprehensive. Now we're locked into a certain size & shape. Are we sure this is what we want? We've talked about this for so long and made so many changes to our floor plan along the way, but now, for better or for worse, this is how it's going to be! :)

This is how it looked this morning:

This is how it looks this evening:

Wow, sure doesn't look very big for the amount of money it's going to cost!

I thought it looked like you are doubling the size of your house. I'll keep checking for updates.

We have 1056 square foot now and are adding 1128. We are simply revealing that we're aging -to be saying "I can't believe how much things cost these days!" :)
What I meant was -it soulds like a lot because we could supposedly get a whole new house (modular) for the same price we're paying for this addition.

Are you getting them to put some kind of sealer on the outside of the block walls for the basement? I was thinking you had said something about that one other time. Anyway, what they did so far looks good! Keep showing us lots of pictures. :)
